teaching & mentorship
As a former Berkeley undergraduate and returning graduate student, I am deeply committed to giving back to my academic community through teaching. I have experience in both undergraduate and graduate instruction, ranging from programming and genomics to molecular biology.
I have been incredibly lucky to receive the Berkeley Connect Fellowship in Computational Biology for graduate student mentorship. as well as the UC Berkeley Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Reward for my work in teaching and developing lab curriculum for IB 134L (Practical Genomics).
Stacy put in so, so much effort to this class and showed genuine care toward their students. I was stunned by their work ethic and kindness. Besides writing the labs and teaching the lab lecture… they reached out to students personally, and went above and beyond to provide support for the students… making themself available whenever we needed help. They were really fun and approachable too. Above all, they showed that they cared, not only about my success in the class, but also my health and my growth as a person.

Outside of academic teaching, I coordinate & develop curricula for the biannual UC Berkeley Center for Computational Biology Bioinformatics Bootcamp, a programming course for wet lab researchers with minimal computational experience. I also serve as a program coordinator and graduate student mentor for the Cal Genomics Summer Research Experience, a biology research experience for first-generation and underserved minority students at Cal.
